Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding Online Course Terms and Conditions- Enrollment Agreement and Disclosure Statement
I have reviewed the syllabus for my chosen course and have understood the fees included with my enrollment, the structure and content that will be taught in this course, as well as the occupational fields related to its focus of study. I have also read thoroughly the return/refund policy that comes with this purchase. I understand that I am set to begin this course the same date as my course purchase date, and that I must complete the course on or before December 31, 2015 or as relayed to me by Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding. I also understand that further extension on the course can only be granted by HMBC. I accept that HMBC would require me to take certain preparatory courses prior to enrollment as dictated in the course syllabus (wherever applicable) that would help determine my successful completion of the course. I understand that it is required that I be beyond the age of compulsory high school attendance and that I hold a high school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate as the minimum educational attainment required to embark on this course.
To ensure quality performance and maintain good standing in this course, students are required to abide by the Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding Code of Ethics which ensures optimal level of professionalism and ethical behavior.
Students of the Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding School are expected to be dedicated providers of ICD-10 Coding and Billing Services of the highest possible standards to employers, clients, and patients. They must possess impeccable professional and personal behavior towards their chosen field as well as towards their instructors and colleagues.
Students should abide and adhere to the laws and regulations of the land and must only use legal and ethical means in every professional transaction. They shall refuse to involve themselves in the acts of those who engage in fraudulent and illegal practices.
Students shall also continue to strive for excellence in their chosen field by pursuing continuing education in all areas applicable to their profession, ensuring that through this manner they are maintaining and enhancing the dignity, standard, and competence of coding for professional services.
Students shall not abuse their professional relationships with patients, employees, clients, or employers for their own personal advantage.
This code of ethical standards imposed by Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding ensures that the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior are maintained and enhanced among its students. Abiding by these standards encourages public confidence and trust in the competence and integrity of professional coders who are students of Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding school.
Failure to abide by the rules and regulations as stated by the Code of Conduct of the Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding School may result to the cancellation of membership with the school and the course itself. If a student is rejected from the course, he or she may submit a written or verbal appeal to be accepted back into the course.
It is brought to the attention of the student that neither Hawaii Medical Billing School nor its courses offered are not recommended, supervised, or accredited by any regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and that the student is responsible to determine whether the credits, degrees, or certificates from the institution can be credited to other institutions upon transfer or meet employers’ training requirements. This may be done by calling the prospective school or employer beforehand. Completion of this course from Hawaii Medical billing School does not guarantee job placement for the student, and the school does not participate in job placement activities. Students, however, may search available jobs from job boards and classified ads provided in the Hawaii Medical Billing and Coding School’s area of website and post their resumes upon hiring.
